I, Hannah Smith (she/m/air), am a human with various dynamic roles and passions. On my site you will see my work as a visual artist, writer, and somatic-experiencing facilitator. Another notable long-standing commitment has been to athleticism— nordic skiing, trail running, and climbing. I hold an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Utah.
So far in 2025, I’ve been making water-coloring a daily practice as I also revise my master’s thesis into a book-length manuscript with over twenty unique monotype print images.
Watercolors represent my choice to experience the world with levity and beauty. While my writing can also mediate life in this way, it comes from a place of wanting to end cycles of harm, and this includes what can feel like heavier work— metabolizing grief, and petitioning to change policies and behaviors that harm women. I do the latter through the lenses of historical and literary criticism, research that can be heavy if also illuminating. Ultimately this is one practice — believing in, and choosing to see, a lighter and more beautiful world.
